The Beach

We are approximately one kilometre from a safe and sandy beach where visitors can spend many an hour relaxing, swimming or walking while looking out over views towards Scotland and the Mull of Kintyre. There is also a safe play park area at the beach side for children.

Waterfalls

Our famous waterfalls are one of many attractions available in Glenariffe. Visitors can stroll leisurely up through the waterfalls on one of the many forest walks, listening to the calm of the flowing water and may even be lucky enough to spot a few squirrels along the way! At the top,you will reach the Forest Park where you can continue to walk for many miles and take in the spectacular view of the Glenariffe Glen.

The River

Take some time out to reflect on the true beauty and tranquillity of Glenariffe, enjoying our river walk which runs through the centre of the valley. This walk leads to the famous 'Ulster Way' walk where you can cross some remarkable wild country, heathery hills studded with sheep and a great expanse of moor covered in low hillocks.

Sailing and Fishing

For those who enjoy water activities, why not join the locals for a day of fishing or sailing at our local harbour or out at sea.

Coast Road and Red Bay Castle

Red Bay Castle is visible in the distance, built in 1561 by Sir James McDonnell, and was the scene of many battles in the late 16th century. The Antrim coast road has recently been voted one of the top scenic drives in the world, in a British Guild of Travel Writers survey.
